Good Neighbor Award Winners 2006 |
The following individuals and
business having been very generous in the donation of time, goods and
services during the past year. As a token of the heartfelt appreciation
they were recognized at the 2006 Annual Meeting with the Good
Neighbor Award. Thanks for all you do, we could not survive without your

Matt Harris
Alf’s Golf has put on golf tournaments to help raise money for hurricane
Charley and Katrina victims. For the past two years, Alf’s has
supported our Annual American Red Cross Golf Tournament, donating
thousands of dollars in raffle prizes, as well as sponsoring a team for
the event. Matt is always there to help and support our efforts.

3 yr. New Year’s Eve Gala sponsor and a $50,000
contribution to help hurricane Katrina victims.
Jerry Wynn
Jerry participated in our 2007 Heroes Campaign and pledged funds from
Sunshine Ace Hardware.
Todd Gates
Not only
supported the Red Cross during Hurricane Wilma, but in the past 2
years, has been the top sponsor of our American Red Cross New Year’s
Eve Gala donating $15,000 in 2005 and $15,000 in 2006.
Joey Garon
In 2006, we held
our inaugural ARC Golf Tournament. Joey Garon played in the event,
and during the awards ceremony, came forward and donated $4,500 to
help cover the expenses. And, in 2007, the Bonita Bay Group was
kind enough to be the title sponsor for the tournament. We want to
thank The Bonita Bay Group for their sponsorship, and Joey
personally, for his commitment to the American Red Cross.
The
Club graciously underwrote a large extent of the greens fees and food
costs for our golf tournaments. We want to thank the golfing staff,
catering manager and the Club for helping make the event such a success.
Jerry F. Nichols
Jerry is our 2005 Legacy Award Recipient and has supported the Red Cross
during hurricane Charley and Katrina as well as being a sponsor for our
golf tournament for the past two years.
Verna Kemp –2006 Heroes Campaign co-chair --through her efforts,
Merrill Lynch donated over $20,000 to the 2006 campaign. In 2007 -
$10,000 donated through Merrill Lynch - The Gursoy Group is her
team at Merrill Lynch, and she and her co-workers were responsible for
securing these donations. Also, for the past 2 years, Merrill Lynch has
underwritten the Heroes closing thank you party.

Bill Myers – our 2006 Legacy Award Recipient
Fowler White Boggs Banker is the
founding sponsor of the Legacy Award Breakfast, and has underwritten the
costs of this event for 3 yrs. In 2006, Fowler White Boggs Banker
stepped up to be the title sponsor of the 1st Annual American
Red Cross Golf Tournament. The firm continues sponsor the golf
tournament and support the American Red Cross.
Bill Myers, is
the 2006 American Red Cross Legacy award recipient and gives his
time and talents to help the Red Cross by serving on the American
Red Cross Planned Giving Committee. Thank you, Bill.

Collier County Chapter was the main recipient of the Taste of Collier,
which netted $20,000 donation to support Red Cross services in Collier
County.
Next
year, the Taste of Collier will celebrate 25 years. We want to honor and
thank Ray and the Taste of Collier for this generous donation.

is always there for the American Red Cross in time of need. Whether it
is supporting our fundraising events or lending a helping hand during a
disaster, they are always available to help us. We thank them for their

Amy
sits on the Board of the Planned Giving Committee and has been very
instrumental in the success of the golf tournament. This year, she
chaired the golf tournament, and brought Bank of America in as a
corporate sponsor. Bank of America is a corporate partner with the
National America Red Cross raising millions of dollars to support
disaster relief.

For the past 4
years, McGarvey Custom Homes has allowed us to use one of their
mansions for donor recognition events and thank you parties. Dan
Gerner personally donates to support local Red Cross services

Reg Buxton—Reg supports everything we do by
promoting the American Red Cross in the North Naples Journal - free ads
and press releases to support our New Year’s Eve Gala and Golf
Tournament - full-page color, front-page ad to thank all of our Heroes
for the 2005,2006 & 2007 Heroes campaign. Anytime we need help, whether
it be to promote a event or educate the community about disaster
preparedness, Reg is there for us.

For the past three years, we have held the Heroes
for the American Red Cross Campaign to raise local funds in support of
Red Cross services to Collier County. Naples Daily News has been kind
enough to give us full page, color ads, each
year, to honor and thank all participants in the
Heroes campaign.

Reception honoring major donors for the past 4 years, and has helped
support the Immokalee office of the American Red Cross through past

The Carlisle sponsors the opening breakfast for
the Heroes campaign and provides a full-course breakfast free to
everyone in attendance. They also participate each year with a donation
from their residents. And, they are already on board for the 2008
campaign.
